Windows partition boots to black screen with cursor after creating a 3rd partition

Hi all,

I have Yosemite 10.10.5 and I created, a long time ago, a Windows partition using Bootcamp/disk utility.

I wanted to shrink the size of my Mac OSX partition and reallocate that space to my Windows partition. I downloaded MiniTool Partition Wizard Free on the Windows side to attempt to "Extend" the storage available on my Windows partition. I wasn't able to do this because the extra space can't be recognized using the MiniTool Wizard because of the format.

I switched back to Mac OSX and created a 3rd partition (selected and labeled "Windows 2" in screenshot) using Disk Utility and formatted it as ExFAT. I hoped this free space could get added to my Windows partition (labeled "Untitled" in the screenshot).

Then I tried to boot Windows but was only able to see my Mac partition and some random recovery partition. I then did the below because I read it as a resolution:

After that I was able to see my Windows and Mac partitions after rebooting. However, after I click to boot into Windows it goes straight to a pure black screen with a flashing white cursor in the top left. I can't do anything from this screen (at least that I know of) other than restart and boot back into my Mac.

Can anyone please recommend next steps??? I would like to get back into Windows and hopefully use the MiniTool Partition wizard to add my "Windows 2" partition to provide more space. So far I've read these two threads:

Here is the output for some commands. I am new to all of this, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

diskutil list

diskutil cs list

sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0

sudo fdisk /dev/disk0

Hi LonerT,

Thanks so much for your response! I am new to all of this but I think I understand what you are saying...

If you suggest not using the Mini Partition Tool, should I just undue what I did in Disk Utility to create my third partition (disk0s4)? Basically that would just remove disk0s4 and add the 35.6GB of space back to disk0s2 (i think).

My goal is to merge the space on disk0s4 and disk0s5 together and then use Windows (currently installed on disk0s5). I read through that article but am hesitant to do that because I do not have Windows installation CD :(.

Sorry I am not very good at this stuff and want to make sure "merging" using GParted is the right approach since I don't have a Windows install CD and hopefully don't want to lose data I have on disk0s5.

Thanks!
