AVCHD Collection Preview & Management

Whats up? Would anyone with experience handling a AVCHD collection file (that contains ".mts" file types where recorded video actually is, with in it) be able to walk me through properly exporting the files and/ or properly converting them through Terminal?

I googled it and tried different websites and video that explained the process but I could not get the command in terminal to actually run the conversion.... thanks.
