Ethernet Cable connection to Wireless Headphones

Two Questions :

Question 1

Is there a way to use the Ethernet Connection and Wifi?

I just upgraded my Apple TV hardware and had my wireless headphones plugged in directly to the device using an optical to RCA Audio plug.

The new Apple TV hardware only has a Ethernet Cable option out in addition to the HDMI port.

I bought a Ethernet to Audio adapter but when I plug in the Ethernet it automatically overrides the wifi connection.

My TV is an older model and I cannot use the audio out to connect to my headphones, that is why I had been running that directly from the Apple TV.

Question 2

Is there another solution to have wireless headphones connect to the Apple TV?

They both facilitate home network signals, and they can be combined (bridged) as one logical network by some routers with wired and wireless functionality. But you’re not inquiring about home networks.

I'm confident that that will not work as you intended. That has a quite different purpose.

That is by design. Either use the Wi-Fi or ethernet, not both on this device.

Wired headphones could use an HDMI Audio Extractor, which gives RCA plug options.
