How do you get rid of the split screen feature when you open an email or do a search. I want to see a fill screen, not a column in the right hand side that I have to scroll. Very annoying.

The above is what happens when I click on a website. How can I get the full screen?
The video did not help me solve my question as to what happens since I upgraded to OS13.
when I go to a website, Kohl’s, Best Buy, etc. and click on shop or enter something in search I get a narrow column on the right hand side of my iPad, not full screen. I want to see full screen, not a 3 inch column I have to scroll down in. The you tube video does not address this problem.
