iPhone 4S doesn't want to restore to signed iOS 6.1.3 software on iTunes 12.10.1 and Windows 7 PC and Windows 10 PC Fail with errors

Is the iPhone 4S too old to use iTunes 12.10.1 or 12.10.2 for downgrading software. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 9.3.6 and I am trying iTunes 12.10.0 I believe to downgrade the 4S to a signed iOS 6.1.3 software and eventually it comes with many errors and some say that the connection between the 30-pin input to phone and Universal Serial Bus connection to Windows 7 or Windows 10 PC has been interrupted (Error 6). I also want to know how good the 4S performs on iOS 8.4.1

Just noticed that, and yes, I mean iTunes 12. Thanks.

I go to ipsw.me like this:

ipsw.me is a 3rd party repository for ipsw files. It has no relation to Apple, and the files there, while they may be original files, they cannot be installed on devices that can run something newer. They are not in and of themselves signed.

Apple does not sign anything other than the most current iOS version a device can run. So for an iPhone 4s that is 9.3.6. There is no official way to install iOS 8 onto an iPhone 4s at this point.

We cannot help you with unsupported iOS versions and their installation.

Apple only signs and authorizes iOS 7.1.2 for an iPhone 4 and 9.3.6 for an iPhone 4S.

Trying to install anything else is a hack and not supported by Apple and by extension not allowed to be discussed here.

iOS 12 should still be able to restore an iPhone 4 and 4s however to verified signed iOS versions.
