Hmm. How odd. Nothing in Notification Center either?
Does System Preferences﹥Notifications﹥ show settings for this app that might cause a notification to be only temporary (banner vs. alert), or maybe ‘badge’ without message? You can disable the badge app icon (red dot) completely for this app, if you want.
Hey Urquhart1244,
Here is a screenshot of the issue, I tried removing it and doing what Lizhair1 said and it does not work. As soon as you restart the Mac the notification is back, as you can see in the screenshot there is nothing inside the app like pending or anything. I don't know if anyone can help but for some reason you asked for a photo and here it is. This notification bubble is super annoying. Please help!! Thanks....
I have the same problem on a brand new MacBook pro...initially I cleared it by accepting the 1-year free subscription to TV+...but it is back and I cannot figure out what is causing it. I tried taking it out of the dock and putting it back in but that didn't help either...frustrating...
The same thing happened to me...the notification was to enable the 'free' trial subscription for AppleTV+.
Apple is giving a one year free Apple TV+ subscription to all users as a promotional offer. Anyone who bought an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or Apple TV after September 20, 2019, can sign up for a free 1 year trial.
I'm sorry that didn't help. I like the notifications, but it is annoying to me when I can't figure out why it's there--maybe you're the same? It was there for a few days until I subscribed, navigated around the AppleTV stuff for a little while...then it was gone.
Yes, for me too. I have tried everything! This is so annoying! I tried to shutdown, restart, logout with every time removing from the dock and add it. It does not help. So many wasted times.
Apple please fix it! Until then I am removing the app from the dock. It ruined my day with my new 16''.
This was very annoying. Especially to those of us who obsess over stuff like this. It indicates there is something I should take care of, but doesn't let me know what. Drives me nuts. I could remove it from the dock, but it was there in Launchpad too. Then if I ran Apple TV it shows up in the dock in the recently used section, with the darn badge. After about a week it has gone away all by itself. Hope it stays gone, or at least provides some indication of why it is there in the future.
Yes, so annoying. I don't have it in launchpad. Have also redeemed one year free trial. Even if I hadn't, there's NOTHING in the app that points to where the notification would be (if under account). What happened now, after already starting to think Apple made a misstep with the lackluster shows, is I removed the app from the Dock and will probably never revisit again.
The notification dot was on my iPhone and iPad as well. Has gone away. Maybe it was just a 'look at me, there's something new" temporary thing. If so, might have been better with a blue dot at the bottom, than a red dot at the top.
I had the same issue. Removed it from the dock as well then added it back and the notification was gone. This is an inconvenient fix, but it does work if you hate those annoying notification indicators.
I was talking to Apple Care about the issue because I couldn't get the app to work on my new Mac but would work on my new iPhone. He said there is a software upgrade coming out to resolve issues with Apple TV, Music and Podcast.......so stay tune. For the users that can't get Apple TV to work and you want to take advantage of your one year free trial co TV Apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID ..............
I also have the same issue. Removed from dock, restarted and put it back and bang its back. So sick of all the issues lately. Wish I had never updated any of my devices. Its the worst they have ever been
Hi There, I feel your frustration. I am also having the same issue. Quite frankly, Apple really needs to get better at testing App's before including them in an update or IOS upgrade. I hope they fix this soon COME ON APPLE, YOUR A MULTI BILLION $ COMPANY, surely you have smart people who can fix this issue.
Have you had any further luck on finding a solution?
Cheers
A
AJ, since we were taught from an early age to always look on the positive side of life, I now use this eyesore to locate my TV app icon on the sidebar at a glance...eyesore being the operative word. Thanks for you comment.
