Will upgrading from 32GB RAM to 64GB RAM make difference?

My late 2015 iMac too often runs apps like: Affinity Photo; Exposure/Alien Skin; and on1 RAW slowly.

I've pared away apps that were automatically launching upon log-in.

But still considering IF upping the RAM would make a noticeable difference. Not looking to get a newer model iMac and that's why I'm wondering what you think?

Only to your bank account. Additional RAM will only help if you're doing some heavy video or image editing/processing. But for opening apps, documents or booting up additional RAM won't make a difference.

You may have something else slowing down your computer. Do run the Etrecheck app and post the results here as macjack suggested.

I don't know how much RAM you have now or what your usage is like. Installing more RAM won't necessarily make your computer faster. If you're running a mechanical hard drive that can be a greater challenge to speed. Also is it a 21.5" or the 27" that would make a big difference is how you proceed.

You can download and run Etrecheck  It is a diagnostic tool that's very useful to us in finding problems. Also it will give us further specs on your Mac. After it runs post the log file here. It will contain no personal information. Allowing full drive access will improve the quality of the report.

To post the log file click on share report and use the Page icon in your reply window.
