Sometimes Apple Pay asks for a PIN when paying. It rarely happens but it's always at the same stores. I have tried entering my creditcard PIN and my iPhone PIN but it is always rejected. Does anyone know what PIN it is looking for?

It doesn't ask for a PIN at those stores if the purchase is under $100.00. Does anyone know what PIN Apple Pay is looking for?

Also try the last 4 numbers of the card.

It is a credit card that I have connected to Apple Pay and I tried using the card's PIN but it still got rejected at the problem store. I have used the card's PIN on rare occasions when it has asked for a PIN at other stores and it has worked. Just not at a couple of stores. I am not sure if it is a 'store' issue, a 'bank' issue or an 'Apple Pay' issue. If I can pin it down to one of them I can try and resolve it. Naturally, the bank said it's not them, "the transaction must be looking for an Apple PIN"! I will try 0000 next time I am that the problem store.
