When would AppleTv+ be available in Romania?

Several others have asked the same question recently. The “when” is unknown.

I found this while searching on the web about Apple TV+.

”Due to the missing of accords between Apple and Romanian authorities about copyrights and some production licenses, Or by a possible violation of copyrights the streaming platform wasn’t launched in Romania in november being the only country from Europe where the streaming platform has not been launched. Possibly caused by some problems with the copywright law, or some political problems.”

I think I might be on to something really big here. Most Romanians go to cinemas in malls and most of these malls are made with Greek and Turkish investment. The cinemas are owned by these foreign companies too. There is no AppleTV+ in Turkey or Greece either. These companies also dictate what movies get shown in these cinemas inside these malls and at what date. They don't care if it coincides with the Apple iTunes release movie schedule or indeed the schedule of the rest of Europe. They own the cinema business in Romania. And iTunes digital movie rentals, where the movie comes out as a rental before it launches here in cinemas clearly is a threat to these foreign investment companies. AppleTV+ never released in a country that didn't have the iTunes digital movie rental available for that territory first. If the pieces fit and this is true, then unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do about this. Make your peace with the fact that Apple's official video services aren't available with a Romanian Apple account.

Best guess November 2020. We missed our launch window for this year. All we can hope is that we will be included in the new group of countries that will get it next year

There was a huge thread about this 3 days ago with over 500 views and 26 replies but the administrators deleted it because there were one or two posts that apparently broke the rules of service so instead of just deleting those two posts they deleted the whole thread.

My message to those administrators: I understand some of us got off topic but you're all Apple fans here right? Imagine you live in the US, maybe you actually do, and you're a big Apple fan. And even though it was posted online by Apple on suport sites for your country that their new product will launch in your country like everywhere else and at the same time, it doesn't. It could be a service like Apple Music or hardware like the new iPhone. And Apple refuses to explain why. Wouldn't that as a huge Apple fan make you feel really sad and that like for some reason Apple thinks less of you and your country because even though maybe they couldn't navigate the country's bureaucracy well enough to launch the service you should still know since they said they'll launch it?

This post got off topic so delete it if you must but please be understanding with us. We all love Apple here and some us can be rude sometimes and there's no excuse for that but please at least delete the problematic posts and not the whole thread.

I recommend you contact your local government and find out what's going on. Ask them what is getting in the way. No one on my side of the aisle would have first-hand experience with this.

There's nothing really left to add. This is a technical support forum. We're not allowed to go offtopic. No one really knows when, if ever the service will officially be here. But it's not the end of the world. We have Apple Arcade, Apple Music. Some countries don't even have the AppStore so let's be grateful for now. "Here's to the crazy ones". Peace out! 😘
