how to turn on localhost?

Hello everyone, I am developing some websites and wanted to test them using the localhost on my MacBook pro. I need some support setting up the localhost on my computer.

If you use MAMP, I would definitely recommend relocating the localhost folder to your own Home/user.

Otherwise with each MAMP upgrade you will loose your files if located in the default Applications/MAMP folder.
