Authentication fail message - How do I fix this? I have tried everything

How do I fix the message for apple mail - Authentication failed? I just tried to send mail and a message says - cannot verify server identity. How do I fix this too?

Any help would be great

I have changed settings and changed them back. tried every password including the right one. Than I changed the password completely on all devices and the settings. how do i find out who my email provider is? is that the company that I paid to host the email acct? I have my website with one company, my domains with another and so I wouldn't lose an emails when I redesigned my site and went elsewhere, i kept my past company hosting my emails.
