I just got the new MacBook Pro 13 inch and my Apple TV app shows a badge. I went to the notification settings and the app isn't listed. How do I fix this? I've looked all through the app and googled the question. So far nothing.

Yes, quitting the TV app, then removing it from the Dock, then relaunching and adding it back into the Dock cleared the badge for me. Maybe Apple was just trying to say "Hey, look at me!" and get people to notice the new TV app, but really, that violates their own user interface guidelines. If an app has a badge, opening the app should reveal whatever needs attention -- and there should be a simple way to clear the notification badge. TV app doesn't seem to adhere to ANY of those rules.

Nothing, it should be there. You could try to make copies of ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ncprefs.plist and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.TV.plist, delete the originals and log out or restart. The two preference files for the Notification Center and Apple TV should be recreated, hopefully correctly.
I removed the app from the dock permanently. It seems like the badge issue only happens when it's in the dock. Hopefully Apple will fix this in an update.
This is one of the many issues with Catalina Upgrade.
Removing the ATV from the dock and leaving it off the dock
is the only solution for now. If you add it back to the dock
the badge will return.
Thanks - Deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ncprefs.plist and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.TV.plist worked for me and the files were recreated.
I had the same issue today as well!
I don't remember what exactly helped to solve it, but I did: sign out of Apple TV app, Reboot the machine, Remove the TV app from dock, launch the TV app directly from Applications folder and then put it back in dock (it disappeared after this last step).
I did the following similar Meloman
I remove AppleTV icon from dock
Then launched from Applications folder then moved on to dock
Badge was gone
What do you mean "shows a badge" ? Is it showing a number in the upper right hand corner of the TV icon on the Dock? If yes... that usually does indicate a notification waiting. If no... please clarify.

"Badge" is Apple's own term to refer to that red circle with enclosed number overlaying the top right corner of the application icon.
This workaround works, but if you restart you Mac the badge is there again...at least for me.
Same issue the BADGE on the ATV returns when you reboot the mac.
I see you figured yours out, but I can’t even find the app badge in my new Mac. It won’t show in searches either. Where is it? Lol
Same here. I can remove it from the dock, put it back and when I restart the badge appears again..
