iPad: can't get "Settings" to open.
I can't get "Settings" to open. It opens for about two seconds but then it closes. This started when I allowed the unit to "Upgrade" to iOS 13.1.3 on my iPad II Air (A1566). Ever since that time, it won't allow me to open "Settings".
It seems to operate fine otherwise: It charges normally, I can use the apps normally, but if I want to go into my "Settings" it opens quickly and then shuts it. I have done numerous "reboots" to no avail (pressing the home button and on/off button at the same time until the screen goes blank and restarts).
Yesterday, I had some time to try different "fixes". I plugged the iPad into the computer with my "iTunes" account and tried to "update" the iPad. It would begin the process but then it would say that the iPad could not be updated. I tried this four times with the same result. I then thought, "OK, you're going to have to reset to factory settings." I tired that but iTunes (or whatever it's called now) asked me to go into "Settings" and turn off the "Find my iPhone" app before I could reset it to the factory settings. I can't do this because I can't get into my settings!! So I tried it again hoping that I could just plow through and figure out the "Find my iPhone" thing later. Again, it told me that I needed to go into my "Settings" and turn off the "Find my iPhone" app. UGH!!! I then tried one more time to "Update" the device. It seemed to go through the process, and then it kept going through the update process (further than it had on the previous attempts). Finally, it updated the iPad to iOS 13.2.
But it STILL won't let me open the "Settings"! I rebooted the system multiple times, and it still won't allow me to open "Settings". C'mon Apple!!! Is this the corporate plan to get me to buy a new iPad?
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
