iOS 13.2 email: freezing, blanks emails and corrupted email list
I have had no problems with email on iOS 13.0 through 13.1.2 but since installing 13.2 I experience email freezing or crashing back to the home screen after reading an unread email when viewing via the unread filter or unread mail box. Either an email will not display (and the read pane displays a message saying the email could not be displayed due to “a problem”) or while reading, after 20 seconds or so the email will disappear from the read pane and the left hand list. After this I get freezing, missing email entries and a completely unusable email system. If I switch off all email accounts (including iCloud) and turning them back on, I can get it to start working again UNLESS I use unread filter or mail box again (underlying problem still there).
I have tried deleting all email accounts and reinstalling them (including my iCloud account) and even deleting Apple Mail from my iPhone and iPad and reinstalling the email accounts (rebooting in between). I experience the problem in Apple email on my gen 1 iPad Pro and iPhone X. Apple mail on my Mac works fine. Also MS Outlook or GMail apps on my iPhone and iPad with the same accounts work fine. No idea what to try next other than request Apple to fix what they broke between 13.1.2 and 13.2. I wonder if it’s this rumored over zealous background app killing that’s behind this?
Any suggestions or recommendations would be most welcome.
