I have an iPhone 4. I love the way it looks and feels. I do not want a case to get in the way of that. I am looking for a protective case, but only because I am scared of the glass shattering. I am not worried about scratches and I have had no antenna problems (counting my lucky stars) so those things are not an issue for me. What cases would be the best for me to look at?
Thanks for your reply. That case does look like it would pass the protection part of my requirement, but it would change the way it looks and feels too much. That is a pretty big and bulky looking case. I am looking for something as invisible and thin as possible. I know that both of those things are somewhat contradictory to protecting the glass, but I am just trying to find the case that best fits those requirements.
There wouldn't be any other case or "invisible shield" like products that would protect it from cracking or smashing. Most of the products advertised protect them from scratches and have grips for slip resistance.
They don't protect from drops from any height no matter if it's a foot or five feet. One company even tested the 'bumper' from drops and it smashed the glass in the same amount of drops they've done without one. Nor would it be break resistance if you hit it against your table by accident.
Otterbox and the one case in the YouTube link are designed for the drop durability. The other cases are as said 'scratch resistant' and have grips on them for slip resistance.
Sorry Joe, but I have seen plenty of cases that protect the glass from breaking. I am not looking for something to promise the glass won't break, but just give some added protection. Any of the rubberized (or other similar material) type cases will do this. I am just looking for the one that is the least obtrusive.
