A messagecame from Apple Security saying "virus has been detected on you iphone and battery has been infected and damaged" download and instal to remove the malware. Is this true?

No. All such messages are scams from criminals trying to trick you into providing information to them, or downloading a useless app. Close the offending page, and avoid sites that are involved in such bogus advertising tactics.
