beats brake after 6 months
I bought two pair of beats at an auction. Both broke after using them for 6 months - mostly working out. And, i paid $100 to replace a set, and again, they broke after 6 months. Any suggestions?

Don't buy these particular Beats headsets? You don't mention which exact models you bought at the auction so we don't know if they would be best suited for more stationary activities vs. during workouts. If you find yourself "breaking" headsets often, you may want to look for those designed for "action" wear.
