Not requested shut down

My Mac keeps on asking me if I would like to shut down when I did not request to shut down or restart how do I fix this, what’s wrong with it it’s asking me several times in a row?!?!

iMac not shutting down properly Whenever I restart my iMac after having manually shut it down fully, I get a message saying “You shut down you computer because of a problem” and then asks me if I want to reopen all my previous applications. When I shut down the Mac all looks ok, no error messages or anything and I have tried with all applications closed so potentially there is some system application in the background that isn’t closing down properly. any ideas how I can identify why this is happening?

Do you have automatic shutdowns enabled in System Preferences > Energy Saver?

Do you have automatic updates enabled, and a pending patch installation that requires a reboot?
