Hi, piotras9000,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. I understand from your post that your MacBook Pro will become unresponsive after awhile of use since updating to macOS Catalina. I'm happy to help!

What you're describing sounds like it may be a kernel panic. There are a lot of causes of kernel panics, and to troubleshoot the steps in If your Mac restarted because of a problem - Apple Support should help.

If you need more help after that, please get in touch with Apple Support directly. You can do that here: Contact Apple Support.

Best.

for what it’s worth: I think for me it was some cronjobs in crontab that executed via wget every minute. While this worked before and was also intended, it now spawned hundreds of „cron“ processes that I could find with „ps aux | grep cron“, and those never fully terminated, thus always hitting the process limits after a few hours. I am now working for 4 hours, where I always had issues after about 3hrs. Maybe. It is something similar for you.
