moving mouse locks screen

Hi,

I've had an issue thats been driving me mad for over 2 years, and can't seem to find anything on the web... This is a mac pro, latest OSX but has happened with the previous 2 and its had two complete restores and still does it.. And "it" is that if the mouse is moved in a quick diagonal way across the screen... the screensaver starts. I've disabled hot-corners - but note, it can be anywhere on the screen, it just has to travel a few cm across the monitor and its instant screen lock.

It becomes very annoying when you move your hand to the mouse and that causes the mouse to move subtly, that often kicks it in.

Everything i find on the web is about how to activate hot-corners etc, but thats not this, it happens when the pointer is in the middle of the screen.

Anyone else ever seen this or, fingers crossed, know how to switch it off?

thanks!

You can look at System preferences

>System Preferences>Trackpad to make modifications/see Gestures /demos & actions

How to use the Force Touch trackpad - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204352

Change Trackpad preferences on Mac - Apple Support

Use Multi-Touch gestures on your Mac - Apple Support

To trouble shoot further you can:

Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc. Login and test. Reboot and test.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Test issue in another user (or guest user) account  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204443

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
