"Updates to iPhoto?
I'm in the process of updating my iMac to Catalina and am worried that iPhoto won't run on this operating system. Is it true that iPhoto will no longer work?

If you were using the latest version of iPhoto (9.6.1), you can migrate the entire iPhoto library to a Photos library. Just drag the iPhoto library icon to the icon of the Photos application in your Dock; Photos will create a new Photos library and migrate the content of the old library to the new one.
As soon as I upgraded to OS 15 my iPhoto app and all of its attached photos and albums refused to run. The system message said "iPhoto isn't supported in this version of macOS."
I did this initial migration a few years ago when Photos first came out. At that time the migration transferred all of my then-current photos. I continued using iPhoto because it included a feature called "Export to Website", which I had been using for a number of years. Unfortunately when Photos came out this feature was missing.
So, I guess I'm stuck. Thanks for your suggestion.
Yes. Apple replaced it with Photos.

Thanks. So now how do I retrieve photos that were stored in Albums in iPhoto (which no longer operates) and move them into albums in Photos
Do you still need the pictures you added to your iPhoto library since you first migrated it, or have you already added them to your Photos library?
