how do you download video from Panasonic vx870 to Final cut pro, not from sd card, from memory in camcorder

I have used similar types of Panasonic camera for years.

I have not had success at downloading to FCP X direct from the camera hard drive.

My method is to use the camera to copy the footage to an SD card, then import from that.

I have no access to have a look in the camera menu until later in my day.

The thing is menus change with new models, so you really need to consult the camera user manual or download one.

It is a very simple operation.

FYI: Always use an SD card that is fast enough to handle the files in use.

I think when you connect the camcorder to the Mac via cable, FCPX will ask you if you want to import these files into FCPX, select copy media when you import and It will be there. Please let me know if it works.
