Audible and itunes
Since the move of audiobooks from iTunes to Books, I can no longer play my audible audiobooks on my ipods - classic and nano

You've posted in iTunes for Windows. Are you running on a Mac, and is that Mac running macOS 10.15 Catalina? You may find that your authorizations didn't migrate properly and you need to reauthorize both your iTunes and Audible accounts in Books. You should then be able to sync audiobooks to your device via Finder.
