Can not use number keys

It appears you are having difficulty typing numbers on your MacBook Air.

Are you also only able to type capital letters and not lower case? The behavior you're describing sounds like a stuck Shift key that is causing numbers typed to apear as special characters.

Is it a recent MacBook Air with the Butterfly Keyboard. As i_rina was saying it might be stuck shift key. The butterfly keyboards are known to be like that with being faulty. However, if it is still in warranty, try getting it in for repair. If not you can try and take the key off yourself and clean it with some compressed air or maybe a vacuum.
