Apple TV 4K - How to upgrade previously purchased films to 4K HDR

It isn't something one can do manually. Films will automatically be upgraded to 4K/HDR as they become available.

Also just be aware that only movies purchased directly from Apple/iTunes will upgrade. If you purchase a movie through Movies Anywhere or another service that is synced to Movies those will not be upgraded.
