Apple Watch repair process

I was told at the Apple Store that instead of making the arduous attempt at scheduling an appointment and taking the necessary steps to have my watch repaired at the store, the best thing to do is simply contact Apple and mail it out myself. They don't fix the watch in the store and have to mail the watches out anyway. They told me to contact Apple online to make this happen. Where do I do this on their website or do I have to call them?
