Anybody found a solution yet to make the latest i-Tunes and macbooks talk to ipod Classics?

2018 Macbook Pro, i-Tunes v12.5.5, ipod Classic 7th Gen. Not talking to each other. If anyone has one, I'd like a proper fix from a user - since Apple just refer you to the support articles (please don't tell me to read these - I have done and they were useless). Hope someone can help! Thanks in advance

Current iTunes version of iTunes for Mac is iTunes 12.8 not 12.5.5.

My 30GB 4th gen Classic is read fine, and can sync with that on my Mac Mini running macOS High Sierra.

Try updating iTunes for starters.

Then try changing ports, and adapters you are using since a 2018 Mac does not have USB ports you can plug the ipod directly into, you do need an adapter. Also a different cable may also be a good thing to try.
