BestBuy does not, nor have they ever sold unlocked iPhones. All models sold in their US stores are sold under the Flex Lock policy, and will lock to the US cellular provider used. They are not meant for use outside the US. There is a long history of iPhones being purchased from BestBuy to be used outside the US, and none of those stories end well for the consumer.

Apple does not participate here.
If you want to talk to Apple support, then call them.
As for your problem. Your phone is NOT unlocked.
If you're unhappy about that, take it up with Best Buy.
Apple does not have the legal right to remove the carrier lock from the phone. Only the carrier it's locked to can do that.
The phone they sold you is not unlocked.
Return it to the store where you purchased it.
It is NOT unlocked. If it were unlocked, you would not be getting the error message you're seeing.
Yes I head that also and this is why I only tried the correct sim I wanted in the phone first. From my understanding the phone will be sim locked to the first card for 60days
Hi, I just bought a brand new Iphone 11 Pro Max from Best Buy before I went to Ukraine and now that I am Ukraine the first sim card I ever inserted into the phone does not work. The phone says not supported. The same sim card works on my old iphone and google pixel 3 xl. I think this is an issue with Ape having some sort of lock on the phone and I am really upset spending over $1,300 on a brand new ohone for it to tell me it wont work.
Oh and the website is not good, after I typed everything and then added a photo it deleted everything I typed.... Really hard to figure that out?
An apple support staff removed my previous post... Maybe the apple support staff should spend time fixing my issue instead of censoring me.
Simple contact me for my phones IMEI and send the unlock code to my phone, simple?
I click on contact support in the website and it give me...
It is unlocked. It doen't allow an international carrier....
I bought it from Best Buy in South Dakota in the United States am I supposed to drive their from Ukraine and then drive back??? Where is Apple support... FIX THIS!!!!!
Looks to me like they sell UNLOCKED!!!!
Of what i have heard, an iPhone bought at Best Buy is unlocked at first, but it will SIM-lock to the first SIM card. So it is not truly unlocked, i do not know why this is, and if and how this lock can be removed.
Also your one-year warranty is only valid in the country where the phone was purchased (US in that case).
