How do I turn off the find my phone on the iPhone 6

How do I turn off the Find my phone on the iphone 6. I am also trying to update the ios. Its too old to transfer to a different phone number. Thank you.

What version of iOS are you on now? To turn off Find My iPhone on older versions of iOS, you go to Settings><yourname>iCloud>Find My iPhone, turn it off. You will have to provide your password.

What are you referring to when you say "It's too old to transfer to a different phone number?" What are you talking about transferring?

Thank you for your help. I don't know what version ios the phone is now. I cant get it activated. All I know that it is an iphone 6 or 6s. When I said "It's too old to transfer to a different phone number?" I mean the iphone I'm trying to activate must be too old for me to transfer my current phone number from my droid to this old Iphone that I cant activate. Thank you so much.

The porting of telephone numbers is done by the carrier. It is not dependent on the activation process of an iPhone. If you are experiencing difficulties with activation, then see this, If you can't activate your iPhone - Apple Support You did not mention problems with activation in the original post.
