Power/charging Problem
Why does my IPad Air 2 keep turning off and why won’t it charge? It won’t even stay on for more than 30 seconds.

Try substituting the USB cable and the power brick, one after the other. Failure of a cable is the most likely culprit. If necessary, visit an Apple Store or a friend to have your iPad checked out with their known-good peripherals. Good luck.

Bring your iPad Air 2, charge cable and charging/power block into your nearest, “local” Apple Store for diagnosis, evaluation and potential options.
If your iPad Air 2 is in good shape, cosmetically, if a possible diagnosed battery failure, an exact replacement iPad, in lieu of an actual battery repair/replacement, will cost approx. $100 U.S.D., plus tax.
Battery replacement is cheaper than purchasing a new iPad.
Best of Luck to You!
you should probably take it in to the Apple store, and if you don’t want to, you can try powering it off. I had that problem and that is why I bought an iPad Air 3.
