Ipod (ancient model) battery probs

I have a an older Ipod (15gb, 5/6 gen i think). It's been in storage for years and it won't turn on. Tried charging it but still nothing. Do I have to replace the battery myself?

Yes. You might find a third party shop that can do it for you for a fee, but Apple really aren't going to be interested.
