I cannot do a Facebook live stream with my laptop camera in safari (Brand new MacBook Pro)

I always assumed this was a fault of my old MacBook but I have just tried again to do a live stream on Facebook in Safari and it advises me to use Chrome. I hate chrome and want to use Apply software. If Apple are letting me down after spending this much money, to do something so simple, I am going to be extremely ****** off. I have changed the preferences in Safari. I cannot add any websites to the preferences in system preference in the camera section. I am cross.

Please tell me how,
