Black Screen

Hello. I recently updated to macOS Catalina. It installed and worked fine. But while I was using the computer the screen went black. Now I can barely see anything and it is very dim. Is this an issue with the operating system or did my backlight go bad? I have seen some attempts to resolve this issue by going to your library and deleting certain extensions. But the ones that were discussed are not even in my library. Any help would be appreciated. If not I will wipe clean and go back to another operating system and see if that clears up the issue.

Difficult to say if it's software or hardware at this point. Do some basics such as reset the NVRAM and restarting in Safe Mode. If neither work, it's likely hardware which could be a backlighting issue or the display itself.
