iMessage activation not working

I have the xs Max. After i did the latest update 13.2.2 i have been having small issues. Today, my iMessage completely stopped working. I can send messages via text only. In a group message i can not send anything (iMessage or text). I have done all of the suggestions i can find. Rebooting (soft n hard), turning iMessage on and off. WiFi on and off. I have reset settings. I have done everything i can think of, over the past 2 hours. Now when i try to cut iMessage on, all i get is ‘waiting on activation’. I have check the date and time several times.


i am at a complete loss. Other than doing a complete factory reset, which I am not too excited about thinking about doing that. I don’t know what else to do.


i have signed in and out of Apple ID several times, time/ date.


so frustrating

See these instructions, If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support including contacting Apple Support if they fail.

24 hours later and little more research. The night that i did the most recent update, i lost my iMessage capabilities. The group message is still not working. That is a major problem for me due to be the caregiver for my husband. This requires me to message with multiple people in one conversation.


support please fix this issue. I can not be the only one i am at a loss for what to do

You are not speaking to support. This is a user to user support forum and Apple does not participate here. If iMessage would not activate for you, then follow the steps in the support document as I said. Since you have waited the time limit and nothing has changed, then use the Contact Apple Support link in that document to get them involved.
