Does anyone know if documents captured with the camera on the iPhone (SE) are and then imported into Notes or Pages -- and then maybe into Word? -- editable? I am trying to avoid keying in umpteen pages of an old project that I want to edit now.

Does anyone know if documents captured with the camera on the iPhone (SE) are and then imported into Notes or Pages (on an iMac) -- and then maybe into Word? -- are editable? I am trying to avoid keying in umpteen pages of an old project that I want to edit now.

Thank you for any advice you may have!

P.S. The topic I had to choose is not exactly correct but it was the closest to what I want to know -- how to photograph or scan images that are textual documents and then be able to edit them, not just comment on them, but actually get into the documents and make changes directly.

The document capture from your iPhone will produce either a PDF or an image — depending on what software was used in the capture process, and neither of which is editable in Pages — because they are now images (even in the PDF). You will need to use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on the scanned content to liberate the text.
