How contact support without MacBook password or device (ipad) s/n?
Recovery progress got interrupted. Now device doesn't recognize MacBook p/w. Can't get to chat or other contact to Apple Support.

You can contact Apple using the following link. You will eventually need the serial number for them to help you.
During recovery (which did not finish) I saw (in Settings?) on the Ipad, the s/n and failed to note it. If Apple could get me back to that, AOK. But device is stuck on this conflict with MacBook p/w so I can't open it. Ipad also won't respond to recovery command.
Maybe I have to go to an Apple Store which is 60+ miles...

Hallelujah! By some miracle I pressed some sequence of keys and up pops "Continuing recovery." It finishes like divine intervention and all is well, backed up, s/n and IMEI recorded and I'm enjoying a nice big highball knowing I don't have to go to the Apple Store.
BTW, all this is for my wife's ability to use her Ipad for some goofy game that occupies her attention at least 50% of her day. But she loves me and takes care of me and so I am willing to spend hours fixing a beautiful machine and its underserving service.
