How do I check daily internet usage on my mac

Hi, so if I open Activity Monitor, and click on the network tab, at the bottom of the window there is an entry that says "Data received: 5.98 GB". Is this number for one day? one week? What's the time period of this almost 6GB reading? I attached a screenshot of it.

Thanks in advance,

I suspect this is logged in time.

Reboot or log out & back in to test.

The official KB is of little use:

I had to reboot and it reset the count. If I just log out than back in, it does not reset. So I guess that it is usage since last boot. Thanks for the answer!

Thanks for the report.

There are better ways if you need to track up/down, that you can set to monthly— independent of reboot— I use one from the App Store: "Bandwidth+"
