When I get a group text message (in Messages) or a phone call, I never know who is actually texting

I have my Contacts set so that, for example, my son and his wife are in the same contact card. When I get a group text message (in Messages) or a phone call from one of them, I never know who is actually texting. (Is it my son or is it his wife?) The caller id just shows what their 'coupled card' says—so, dunno if it's him or her.


Without the giant bother of separating out each individual in my entire address book to their own "card" (for which they share the same household addresses, etc), maybe there is a better way to do this?

For example, I have a contact card with only a last name...and then individual names are listed below in the main info section (along with email and physical addresses, etc.). When my son calls, it'd be cool if the caller id said not only his last name but also knew and displayed his first name. And when my daughter in law calls, it would do the same but with her first name.
