Anyone come across Activation lock on your iPad? I'm having a hard time logging in. I did have this iPad from my previous employer. I thought the username with iCloud would still work. Any suggestions on how to get out of my activation lock?

In order to remove the Activation Lock, you need the Apple ID and password to which it is locked. If you don't have that, you need the original purchase receipt to show Apple.

The Activation Lock, which is an anti-theft process, can only be unlocked by using the ID and password used to lock it. As yours is a used device Apple won't unlock it for you (they will only unlock it for the original purchaser), and there is absolutely no other way of unlocking it. The websites that offer to unlock it for a fee are scams. If you are unable to contact your previous employer to find the ID and password you will never be able to use it.
If it is prompting you for an Apple ID that you do not recognize, then you are going to have to contact your employer, if they are the one that purchased/activated the iPad. Only they would be able to remove the activation lock, or to request assistance from Apple. They will need proof of purchase as well if they need Apple's help.
