Difference between iMovie and FCP? Like the difference between riding a bike and driving a formula one race car. Too many differences to count. The only thing they have in common is that they capture video and allow you to edit it. How they do it is vastly different.

$300? Not a bad price. Used I gather. FCP HD is a great program, but be prepared for a high learning curve...and if you can, get training.

I just bought this same package for $300 a week ago. If it is the same as mine you must have FCP 1, 2, or 3. In other words, it is an upgrade package. You cannot use the upgrade if you just have iMovie. I was fortunate enough to find an unregistered copy of FCP 2 on eBay that I got for about $100.

Plenty user friendly. One of the most user friendly interfaces for a pro application. Just sit in an Avid bay and look at that.

No no no...just a high learning curve if you are used to the way iMovie works.

For us Avid switchers...it is a breeze.
