Catalina -WORD rebooting when I cut (to cut and paste) every time

I am running the latest up to date versions of both Office 365 and Catalina. Since installing Catalina (and this includes the Apple store reinstalling it) I can't ct and paste in WORD. When I try it reboots the system and sends an error message to MS. As far as I can determine this is the only issue and it's a major bummer. Any ideas?
