How many more updates would the 10.5 iPad Pro would be able to get until it is not allowed to upgrade anymore? And what year would that be approximately?

Nobody here can provide a definitive answer as to the future support lifetime of an Apple device - and Apple are unlikely to provide a specific end-date. However, in general, most devices receive at least 5-6 years in-life support for iOS updates.

As such, you might anticipate a further 3-4 years minimum.

Consider that the iPad Pro 10.5 has a high spec’ A10X 64-bit six-core CPU and 4GB RAM - a core specification that should keep-up with most OS demands for many years to come. In practice, end-of-support for a device generally occurs because the base iOS hardware-requirements exceed the capability of the device.

I hope you find this helpful.
