Earbud button not working

I recently upgraded to an Iphone 8and the earbuds that came with it are the type that connect to the charging port.

They work perfectly, but the button to control the volume and song selection doesn't work at all.

Any advice?

iPhone Xs lightning earbud controls not working I upgraded from a 6s to a Xs recently, so this is my first phone without a headphone jack. The controls on the apple lightning earbuds don't work. I searched for solutions, and found articles from 2016 saying that Apple promises a fix, but nothing else. Is this a known issue? Is this something that is supposed to be working now? I miss being able to control the volume, pause, repeat, and skip songs without touching my phone.

Why don’t the volume buttons on my headphones work? I got my iPhone 7 in July, and have been using the lightning earbuds since then. Randomly today, the volume up and down buttons stopped responding on the earbuds, but the middle button still works fine. Can I get a replacement or is there a way to fix them?
