On my MacBook Air, I open Apple Music. I select an album. All I want to do is start playing track 1 and sit back to listen to the album. How???? It seems that this most simple and obvious of use cases is not supported! Frustrated

I have attached a screen shot. I used to be able to just click on only one button that looked like "play" () there seem to be two now) and it worked. BUT how do I do that now. What do I do to just play the album?
I have four play buttons that will do this. One at the top of the window. One at the top of the song list. One when I hover over the first song. And one on the TouchBar (Keyboards without Touch Bar have a play key). Also pressing space bar works. Oh and also instead of opening the album, you can just press the play button that appears when you hover over the album in the list of albums. Maybe if you added a screenshot of what you are looking at I can see why there is no play button.
You can see the play buttons but it won't play when you press them. Nothing happens. Is that right? Did you import this album into iTunes as files? Maybe the database and album art are there but not the audio files. I think Music still works the same way as iTunes. There is a database of the songs you have and that has the name of the song and points to the actual song. So, if you might be able to see the name like in this screen shot nut when it plays the sang, there is no file there. Look in your folders for the imported files. I don't remember where they are exactly something like USER/Music/iTunes/~~somethingsomething. Or try right clicking a song name and select Show In Finder in the context menu.
Oh. That's interesting. Have you looked at the Info of the songs to see if Skip When Shuffling is checked? If not that then somehow Music is losing track that these songs are on the same album. Maybe make sure all of the Info on the tracks matches. And make sure Shuffle is not on.
The example I showed was an album I had ripped off a CD but I have the same problem with Albums I have purchased in iTunes.
I have found a way to play the Album, click on the three dots above the track times and select play next. This selects the whole Album - BUT - you then have to clear the play next list before doing the same for another Album.
This is at the rubbish end of disappointing! What do Apple think they are playing at? (Pun intended)!
I'm guessing you missed my post above. Greyed out tracks in that view are unchecked. Unchecked tracks are skipped in track to track playback. You may have accidentally control-clicked a check box at some point which checks or unchecks all tracks in the current view.

Not correct. I can make each individual track play but at the end of the track it just stops. The ability to play an Album has gone
Select all the tracks of the album, right-click, click Check (Tick) Selection from the context menu.
