trade in refund on gift card instead of credit card

So I bought a new MacBook pro and payed 1/3 of it with an apple gift card and the remainder with my credit card. When I did my trade in, I got a gift card instead of a refund to my credit card which I used to pay for 2/3 of the new computer. I am a bit irritated as I don't need another apple gift card. I would have rather had the refund on my credit card. Is there any way to rectify?
