How do I set up my Airport Extreme and my Airport Express in series/bridge mode with my Comcast modem?

We assume that the AIrPort Extreme will connect to the Comcast modem/router using a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection.....and.....that the AirPort Extreme will be configured to "Create a wireless network", correct?

And....that the AirPort Express will also connect to the Comcast modem/router using a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection....and....it too will be configured to "Create a wireless network", correct?

Or alternately,

The AirPort Express will connect to the AirPort Extreme using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection....and it too will be configured to "Create a wireless network, correct?

Setting up both AirPort base stations in Bridge mode would basically be the same.

From a Mac:

  1. Run the AirPort Utility, and then, select the desired base station.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. On the Network tab, change the Router Mode to: Off (Bridge Mode)
  4. Select Update and allow the base station to restart.

From an iOS Device:

  1. Tap on the AirPort Utility app.
  2. Tap on the desired base station, and then, tap on Edit.
  3. Tap Advanced > DHCP and NAT
  4. Change Router Mode to: Off (Bridge Mode)
  5. Tap on Done and allow the base station to restart.
