my son forgot his pass code for his iphone 5 is there away i can restore the phone and reinstall from icloude? I have restored the phone but its asking me foe the old passcode witch i don'

You will have to erase the device and set it up again. You can restore from a backup on a computer or iCloud.

If it isn't working then you are not successfully getting it into Recovery Mode. Try again. Hold the power and home buttons down for quite a while to get the connect to a computer display on the device.

Hello.
If your device doesn't show "iPhone disabled, connect to iTunes Screen" and you have attempt to enter passcode, you can try restoring your device via find my app (you need to know Apple ID and password associated with your device). it can ask for passcode in some cases so if it happens, you can restore your device only via iTunes or Finder (MacOS Catalina).
