Bluetooth volume

What is the fix? I have an iPhone 8 with iOS 13.2.2 and when it connects via Bluetooth to a 2019 or 2020 Chevrolet Equinox Premier the phone's volume decreases to 0. I can't adjust the volume after that because it goes back to 0 until Bluetooth is disconnected.

We may have solved the volume decreasing problem when connecting to bluetooth in vehicles. My iPhone 8 was automatically decreasing it's volume to 0 when it connects to Chevy's 2019 Equinox. Just to try a different setting we turned off "Change with buttons" in Settings-Sounds and Haptics. It has not changed the volume level when connecting to the car's bluetooth since we turned that off. If this works for others, I would love to know.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, NiteTech!

I understand your iPhone 8 isn't working correctly with your vehicle. I'd be happy to provide information to help you address this.

Use the steps in the following article to troubleshoot: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod doesn't connect to or work in your car

"If you connect using Bluetooth

  1. Restart your device.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
  3. Check your car stereo's user manual for how to pair with a Bluetooth device. Most cars require a phone setup on the car display.
  4. If you've connected multiple phones to your car stereo, try renaming your device: Go to Settings > General > About > Name, and type a new name. Then try connecting again.
  5. Update your device.
  6. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
  7. If you still can't connect, contact Apple Support."

Have a great day!
