I am trying to backup my iphone using itunes but the Backup Now button is dimmed and not accessible.
How can I get the option to show up? The option to restore an old backup is available, but I don't want to restore, I want to create a new backup.

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like there is trouble backing up the iPhone. There are a couple ways to backup the iPhone. If you can't back up your iOS or iPadOS device to a computer or restore it from a backup
If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed
