is there a way to enter the correct passcode after the iPad is showing “disabled”? I know the passcode. A staff member at our school repeatedly entered the wrong code and caused it to lock.

Read this Apple Support document about what to do "If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled". Click here --> http://support.apple.com/HT204306


You will have to erase the device and set it up again. You can restore from a backup on a computer or iCloud.
